Response to the Commission on Safety and Abuse in America’s Prisons and Jails Final Report

On June 8th, the Vera Institute’s Commission on Safety and Abuse in America’s Prisons and Jails will release its final report, including its findings about their perception of the state of safety in America’s prisons and jails.  While the Association of State Corrections Administrators (ASCA) disagrees with some of the findings in the report, it also believes that a number of the Commission’s findings highlight very important issues in American Corrections.
