ASCA will post the results of discussions from forums about suggested research topics and indicate whether there is support for pursuing funding or recommending the research topic as a potential funding opportunity to our federal partners or that members indicated this is not a significant issue that requires research funding.

ASCA will post a SURVEY to collect ideas for proceeding with those research topics that have support of the memebership to move forward to try to identify research resources.  Some of the topics that might be included in the survey are: methods for completing the research; whether ASCA staff will pursue the topic or list a researcher(s) who are experts in this area and who can perform the research; recommend a funding source that can be pursued; recommend agency(s) where the research can take place; recommend a target date for completion of the research and others.

Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank for Criminal Justice Launched

The project web site of the Cost-Benefit Knowledge Bank for Criminal Justice (CBKB), cbkb.org, is now online, providing useful resources for justice practitioners and policymakers interested in using cost-benefit analysis methods and applications to better evaluate the economic impact of criminal justice policy choices.

The new web site features educational materials, such as webinars and toolkits, to guide visitors through the steps of a cost-benefit analysis. It also serves as a resource clearinghouse, with announcements of the latest publications and events, and a reference database of hundreds of cost-benefit studies.

CBKB is administered by the Vera Institute of Justice's Cost-Benefit Analysis Unit and funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance.
