About Grants Network

The Grants Network of www.asca.net provides opportunities for correctional administrators and agency grants writers and managers to interact, contribute, and access solicited information about available grants, tips and advice concerning applying for grants, and links to web sites that may have available grants and functions for information sharing about grants and grantsmanship.

This web page also allows ASCA to gather information about the pressing needs for funding in corrections so that ASCA can provide feedback to the federal agencies that provide appropriate funding streams.

ASCA has made great strides. There is now a developed Web page and seven sub pages replete with functionality for grants writers and managers to network and teach one another how to improve their grantsmanship through multiple avenues of interaction.

ASCA has developed a regular means of gathering and prioritizing emerging correctional issues that are useful for both the ASCA membership and the funding sources from the federal government and private foundations.

More About Grants Network

June 2011 Current Issues Document

The Association of State Correctional Administrators (ASCA) conducts a semi-annual survey of its membership to identify the current issues faced by correctional agencies and their relative priority.  In June and July 2011, ASCA conducted a survey of members to identify and rate the level of importance of the top four issues facing their agencies and to rate issues identified in previous surveys to determine the continuing relevance of these issues for their agencies.  Twenty-seven agencies responded to the survey.  Click here for the report of the June 2011 Current Issues in Corrections Survey.

December 2010 Current Issues Document

ASCA polled member agencies about current issues facing corrections in November and December and ASCA members discussed current issues during the 2010 All Directors Training held in San Francisco, CA on December 3 and 4, 2010.  The information collected from these two forums was used to update the ASCA Current Issues Document. The results of the poll and discussion at All Directors Training have been incorporated in to a new Current Issues Document that shows that dealing with budget cuts continue to be the leading issue facing corrections agencies today.  Click on this link to download the full report.
